Ethiopia bus explosion kills 3

afrol News, 21 May - An explosion in a commercial mini-bus in the Ethiopian capital Addis Ababa on Tuesday evening killed three people and injurd seven others.

The mini-bus was engulfed in the blast while on its way from 4 Killo area to Meskel Square, close to the Foreign Affairs Ministry.

There were 13 passengers on board the vehicle when the explosion ocurred around the Hilton Hotel.

Police who have since mounted large-scale investigations into the incident confirmed that two of the dead victims were women.

No arrest has been effect, and no group claimed responsibility for the act. But police linked it to "terrorist attack".

The blast was preceeded by the ruling party's overwhelming victory in the local and by-elections at the weekend. It also came a day before Ethiopian Prime Minister, Meles Zenawi, was due to address parliament on Wednesday.
