US offices in SA closed

afrol News, 22 September - The United States embassy in South Africa and other official facilities remained closed today on what has been termed only as a security concern.

Reports have quoted officials saying the facilities will be closed at least for the whole of today, though not giving any details on the type of the security concern, except that it was raised by the the regional US security office.

Services are expected to resume into full operation tomorrow, officials said.

The United States has the main embassy complex in Pretoria, while also running consulates in cities of Johannesburg, Cape Town and Durban.
