Fans warned of fraudulent World Cup tickets

afrol News, 25 September - The world footbal body, FIFA, has send a warning to soccer lovers of fraudulent scams selling tickets for the next year's World Cup in South Africa.

FIFA warned fans to beware of fake tickets on fraudulent Internet sales, saying it was already working with international authorities to address the problem, while also adding that legitimate ticket sales are handled through FIFA's partner MATCH.

Internet scams are said to have cropped up luring fans to buy tickets at discounted rates for the big events stating in South Africa in June next year.

The FIFA World Cup in South Africa will be the first on the continent in the history of the tournament.
