Rescued Gambian migrants assisted home

afrol News, 10 July - A group of 63 stranded and rescued Gambians whose efforts to reach the European shores have been aborted, were assisted by the International Organisation of Migration (IOM) to return home voluntarily, which was in response to a growing number of requests for help.

Charter plane captain hunts for cash in Senegal

afrol News, 24 November - A charter flight from the Gambian capital Banjul today made an emergency landing in Senegal after the crew discovered that the plane ran out of fuel. Captain John Lawrence of First Choice Airways had to pay for it.
