Timbuktu: Historic manuscripts may be safe

afrol News, 29 January - Reports from the historic town of Timbuktu after the French-Malian re-capture are contradicting. Some claim most of the town's unique historic manuscripts may be lost for ever, while others claim most is in safe hands.

Moroccan report confirms "killing of 352 Saharawis"

afrol News, 19 January - The Royal Advisory Council for Human Rights (CCDH) of Morocco in a unique report confirms the killing of 352 "disappeared" Saharawis from 1958 to 1992. Out of these, over 200 died in military bases and secret detention centres, including children.

afrol News, 29 November - In a 2007 report from the US Embassy in Harare, a possible national unity government in Zimbabwe is described as "less attractive." President Robert Mugabe is called "the devil" and Morgan Tsvangirai is described as "a flawed figure."

UN report "revisionist" on Rwanda genocide

afrol News, opinion, 5 November - A recent UN report looking into Rwandan war crimes in Congo Kinshasa (DRC) legitimises a "double genocide theory", confusing victims and perpetuators to the Rwandan genocide, according to Fulvio Beltrami in Kampala.
