Libya gets 3 patrol boats from Italy

afrol News - Italy has given the Libyan government three patrol boats on Thursday as part of the joint agreement to root out the high illegal influx of migrants to the Italian shores. Libya and Italy signed an agreement to maintain joint naval patrols in the Mediterranean to crack down on illegal immigration of Africans crossing to Europe daily.

Italy highly criticised for returning asylum seekers

afrol News - The UN High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) has today voiced concern after Italy sent some 230 people it rescued yesterday off the waters of Malta back to Libya before a proper assessment of their possible protection needs were carried out.
