afrol News, 17 June - São Tomé and Príncipe, whose government fell in a confidence vote on 20 May, is still struggling to put in place a new unity government. Joaquim Rafael Branco, who became designated new Prime Minister last week, has failed to get the main parties onboard a coalition.

afrol News, 4 June - Civil society in São Tomé and Príncipe is mobilising against yet another anticipated election in the poor island state. The country's government lost a confidence vote over two weeks ago and President Fradique de Menezes has called for anticipated legislative elections. Economy - Development São Tomé now eligible for debt cancellation
afrol News, 16 March - The archipelago of São Tomé and Príncipe today was informed it had met its economic reform goals set by the World Bank and the International Monetary Fund (IMF), meaning it is eligible for massive debt cancellation. Debt relief from all of São Tomé's creditors is set to amount to US$ 99 million.
