AFP - Tchad (French news agency) is probably the most regular provider of news from Chad, mostly with several articles a day. All in French but still recommended. 

Africa Confidential is a bisemanal journal on Africa. They let you enter their database on Chad of past headlines, which has some basic facts and news about Chad.

The Africa and Middle East site of the BBC World Services offers updated news, articles and other media services on Africa.

The Financial Times is one of the world's leading business newspapers with a global outlook. You can also go directly to their Middle East and Africa page.

The Washington Post is a prestigious US newspaper with an ample international coverage. You might want to go directly to their Africa page or Chad page, were the last articles from WP are listed.

Times Internet Edition (UK) is the internet edition of the world's oldest daily newspaper. The sister paper, the Sunday Times Internet Edition has its own website. Relatively good international coverage.

Africa Online Chad offers services like e-mail, chat, newsgroups. A lot of news too, and only in English.

Africa Planet.com offers chat services.

L'Afrique sur Internet is a website in French about everything what's happening on Internet in francophone Africa. List of links, forums, etc.

NewAfrica has chats, besides offering lots of other services.

Chad  Economic Development and Indicators is an annual NewAfrica country profile on their pages about African economy. They use the IMF as their primary source, which should guarantee for their quality.

Mbendi Consultants' country profile on Chad concentrates on economical issues. Statistics on communications and information technology, etc.

NewAfrica-Environment offers interesting information about the environment in Africa, among other subjects, and sometimes news about the environment in Algeria. 

WWF International: Chad Country Profile offers articles about the Chadian biological diversity and  environmental education programs.

The U.S. government has several informative, though subjective, pages about most countries in the world, including Chad, being regularly updated. Big resources are used to produce and maintain these pages. The CIA. annual Factbook 2000 is probably the best and most updated collection of data on the web.

WoYaa! is a search engine in French and English with links to some site in French-speaking Africa. Not updated since 1998 and many bad connections.

Network Startup Resource Center Chad Page contains information about telecommunications, internet services and networking in Chad.

Africaguide.com is a website with complete travel information on 51 African countries. In its pages about Chad you'll find data about region and towns, accommodation, tours and more.

Atevo travel destinations offers practical data about Chad, besides some travel guides. 

Excite Travel has a site-page on Chad with some useful information and maps.

The INFOHUB travel guide to Chad has useful travel information, including links on accommodation and transportation.

Lonely Planet, the famous publisher of budget travel guides, has pages on each African country. On their Chad Page you'll find country background information and facts (overviews) for the traveler (money & costs, when to go, attractions, activities, getting there, getting around, etc.), if there's not a travel warning. Detailed facts only in the guide books.

The U.S. State Department files travel information and warnings for all countries, world wide. Their annually updated pages contain a short description of the country and useful information about safety, crime rate, health services and insurance. Aimed at U.S. citizens, but useful for anybody. World Travel Guide's entry to Chad: This is a good, informative and well organised site. Lists all kind of practical information (passport, visa, etc.) and has an introduction to Chadian tourist sites. Guides exist to all countries. You might want to go to their Africa Page. World Online Travel Agency for airlines, hotels, car hires, adventures in Africa has a page on Chad. You won't find too much information, but they have detailed maps of the country.
